Policies

International Shipping:

Kaya Couture does not quote international shipping prices or shipping times. Please specify which carrier and service you prefer. Your order will be shipped from Los Angeles on your ship date using your preferred carrier. Your credit card will be charged directly by the carrier for all shipping related charges.

Ship Dates:

Your ship date will be 8 weeks from the day you place your order. Orders generally ship on this day. Occasionally orders ship as early as a week before your ship date or as late as a week after your ship date. If you are ordering only accessories, your ship date will be 3 weeks from the day you order. We ship US Priority Mail, which takes 3-5 days. If you would prefer Fed Ex overnight, please specify and Fed Ex will bill you for all shipping related charges.

Returns:

Products manufactured by Kaya Couture are custom made and are not returnable. Orders can be cancelled if they have not yet been cut. There is a 25% nonrefundable cancellation fee. Once your order is in production, it can not be cancelled or returned for any reason.

Products not manufactured by Kaya Couture, such as accessories, can be exchanged.  Refunds can be issued (minus a 15% restocking fee) if postmarked within 14 days. All shipping fees for returns and exchanges are paid for by the customer.

Alterations:

Kaya Couture offers a custom cut option for minor fit concerns (add $35 per garment). Our dresses run true-to-size. If the child is between sizes, please provide chest, waist, height and weight measurements, and we can cut a custom size. This reduce the amount of alterations you will need, although you should allow enough time for alterations, which are standard with bridal apparel. Kaya Couture does not do alterations, although we can recommend highly reputable tailors in the Los Angeles area.

Priority Orders:

Our production time is 8 weeks for dresses and custom made accessories; and 3 weeks for non-custom accessories. Some accessories that are in stock can occasionally be shipped sooner than 3 weeks. Dresses and custom accessories can be made and shipped sooner than 8 weeks for an additional charge. The earliest time frame is 2 weeks from the order date. Priority orders add 10% per week per garment. Priority charges are not refundable.

Hand-woven Silk:

Silk dupioni is a hand-woven fabric made in India on antique looms. We choose this fabric for its beautiful textural qualities and its durability and resistance to wrinkles. It often has slubs, cross-grain marks, cocoon and random threads woven in. These are in no way to be considered flaws; rather they are a part of the beauty of the ancient art of hand-weaving. Although an untrained eye might read certain marks as dirt, a pull, or a hole; these are the beauty marks of silk dupioni. A great effort has been made in weaving the fabric that is used in your Kaya Couture dress, and the effort is to be appreciated. The designer inspects all dresses before they are shipped, and would certainly not approve a dress for shipping that has any marks that are out of the ordinary.
